Lab Automation Services for Diagnostic and Clinical Labs

Automated aliquoting, kit design built for liquid handlers, and help when the bottleneck is the instrument.

Your downstream process runs on a robot. The kit feeding it should be designed that way from the start, and the sample prep in front of it should not still be done by hand.

Where manual sample prep stops scaling

A method that works at fifty samples by hand does not survive at five thousand. Somewhere between those numbers the manual steps stop being an inconvenience and become the constraint. The question is never which instrument to buy first. It is which steps should be automated, in what order, and what each one costs you in validation.

Automated aliquoting and media fills

Supera runs a Hamilton Microlab STAR inside an ISO Class 7 cleanroom for aliquoting and media fills. Gravimetric verification and liquid level detection on every dispense, and a run record instead of a technician's initials. That is not a credential we borrowed. It is how our own floor works, and it is why we know what a deck layout, a tip strategy and a carrier format actually demand.

If you are splitting samples, filling tubes or preparing media by hand and the volume is climbing, that work can run here under an ISO 13485 quality system with full lot traceability.

Kit design for liquid handling platforms

Most collection kits are designed for the patient and the courier, then handed to a lab that has to unpack, re-rack and re-label before anything can run. We design the other direction as well.

  • Tube formats and closures your instrument can actually handle
  • Rack-ready presentation, so samples arrive in a layout the deck expects
  • Barcode placement and symbology your reader is already configured for
  • Component tolerances that survive a gripper

Small decisions at kit design turn into hours of hands-on time at the bench, every run, for the life of the program.

When the bottleneck is the instrument

Sometimes the kit is fine and the hardware is the problem. A platform at end of life. A liquid handler waiting on service. An extraction step that should be on an instrument and is not. We are not an equipment dealer and we do not pretend to be. We work in this space every day, and we can bring in people who do that for a living, including service and certified preowned options on liquid handling and extraction platforms.

Who we work with

  • Clinical and diagnostic laboratories scaling past manual throughput
  • Diagnostic manufacturers whose kits land on an automated line
  • Research groups moving a validated manual method onto a deck for the first time
  • At-home testing programs whose returned samples feed an automated workflow
