Traceability only works if the inventory record is right. As Inventory Control Specialist, you own the accuracy of our component and finished-goods inventory from the moment a pallet hits receiving to the moment a kit ships.
You’ll inspect and receive incoming materials against purchase orders and certificates of analysis, record lot numbers and expiration dates, and place materials into the correct storage conditions – ambient, refrigerated, or frozen. You’ll run cycle counts, investigate and resolve discrepancies, manage FEFO rotation so nothing expires on the shelf, and control quarantine and released material segregation so nonconforming stock never reaches a build.
You’ll also flag low-stock and expiring materials before they become a production stoppage, and support quality during audits by pulling the records that connect a shipped kit back to every component lot inside it.
This role rewards people who are systematic and don’t leave loose ends. You should be comfortable in a warehouse environment, confident with inventory software and spreadsheets, and rigorous about the difference between what the system says and what’s actually on the shelf.
